North Carolina Custom Heating
Custom Heating & Air Conditioning began in the 1970’s when Charles Stewart started his own HVAC business. Working around Harnett, Cumberland, Johnston and Sampson counties he had already spent many years learning the trade and applying himself for others. From a background of hard work and little means he knew money was tight for most people and Custom Heating & Air quickly became known for dealing fairly with home owners and builders alike. Following the simple model of being fair and never taking advantage of someone’s situation, and not accepting payment until the job is complete, the business has been fortunate, and benefited from strong word of mouth in the community.
Another reason Custom Heating & Air has endured is because of family and friends. Family has always been a big part of the business and Rodney Stewart has been part of the success most of his life. Learning the trade like his father Charles, by working in all aspects of the business he also came up knowing the value of money and the investment that central heating and Air is to a home. He has operated the business since 2012 and resides in Dunn with wife Haley Stewart, known in the community from banking. She has been with the company full time in its new Erwin location since 2014. Allen Stewart, 3rd generation; has been a part of the business since relocating back from Wilmington in 2011 and brought a more technical aspect, with a background in engineering and design, which bodes well with the more intricate high SEER (efficiency) communicating systems of today and tomorrow. All are involved with day to day operation of the business.
Custom Heating & Air has served the community from its Dunn location for decades, recently moving into a store front location in Erwin; the former location of Warren Brothers Heating. The new location (across from the Harnett Family medical office; beside Erwin Tire service center) has allowed us to expand, in so doing serve more customers and become a closer more involved member of the community. The larger warehouse allows us to sale many supplies and materials to local customers and other installers and service providers.
Over the years the company has grown and evolved with the times, we have always followed the core principles that Charles instilled in the business way back when, and hope to continue his legacy into the future another 3 generations with God’s blessings.
